The Story of the Snowy Forest Christmas Table
Snowy Forest Christmas Table place setting
Once upon a time there was this gal who constantly fell in love with plates (yes, plates). She wanted to hoard all the whimsical, beautiful, elegant, or themed plates she ever saw. BUT she lived with the common sense filled hubby who reminded her that she had already stuck stacks of plates in every nook and cranny of the house. So, when she fell in love with these forest creature plates, from Hob Lob, she didn’t buy them. Alas! She thought of them constantly!! AND Christmas was approaching…
She could see in her mind how stinkin’ cute they’d be. Finally, she gave in to her obsessive thoughts (but only after clearing out a place in the back corner of the pantry floor to make room to store them) and went to the store.

BUT, when she got there, they only had SIX left of the ones she originally wanted! Gasp!! She didn’t despair, she did what she does quite a bit, and bought six others that were different, to mix them in, and she didn’t care because it just adds character to the table, she says. So, after being completely inspired by these whimsical deer plates, she got to work on the centerpiece…
Working on the Snowy Forest Christmas Table
We’ll need some trees, forest greens, snow and deer, she thought. She grabbed items from her mantle, from her entry table and from all around the house until she found enough stuff for those cute lil’ deer plates to live by.

It was Christmas Eve Eve and the centerpiece was done! Tomorrow would be Christmas Eve and the table would soon come to life!!! Just a few more details…

What about these little babies, they’re so cutie patootie? Yes! she thought. (She’s been accused of being a maximalist by the common sense filled hubby.)

The sun shone through the window, filled the table with light and she giggled with joy.
Little details make her happy she thought. Like the dollar store snowflakes at the base of the deer. Or the tiny deer under a cloche that used to live in the guest bathroom at Christmastime.

She loved these little deer and how they peek around all the froo froo.
She has no chandelier, but not to fear! She got a stick from the backyard and hung a variety of snow items from it. Her common sense filled hubby wasn’t sure about it, but she liked it, so it stayed. Then, the candles were lit, the guests arrived and everyone ate and ate and ate. The end!
I hope you liked my non-fiction story that I wrote based on someone I know…
May all your Christmas’s be snowy, if only just on the inside!
